Last Christmas I was in Taiwan visiting a good friend and escaping the Shanghai winter. It was my first time in the renegade province and I was smitten from the start. I guess it had to do with the cute Mandarin, the bubble tea, the fresh food, the hot springs, the ocean, the moped riding and the island lifestyle in general. While driving down the freeway from Hsinchu to Taipei Int Airport on my last day I dreamed of becoming a betel nut beauty kiosk architect and starting a new life. To keep the spirit I made this mix. It's mainstream and alternative, old and new songs from TW, HK and mainland China mixed together. Perfect for a long hot summer day.
